Curious about what it feels like to breathe underwater? The PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program is the world's most popular introduction to scuba. Designed for beginners, it lets you experience the thrill of diving under the close supervision of a PADI Instructor or DSD Leader.
Whether you're a swimmer or not, if you're in good health and have a spirit for adventure, this is the perfect way to take your first step into the underwater world. During the program, you'll explore vibrant coral reefs, enjoy the sensation of weightlessness, and witness marine life like never before.
It's a safe, exciting, and unforgettable experience that often becomes the beginning of a lifelong passion for diving.

The DSD program is designed to be accessible to almost everyone with a sense of adventure
The DSD program is open to anyone aged 10 years and above who is medically fit to dive.
Basic comfort in water is helpful but not mandatory. Non-swimmers can also participate with extra precautions.
Participants must be in good general health. Some medical conditions may require doctor's clearance.
All participants must complete the official PADI Medical Questionnaire before starting. If you answer "yes" to any of the conditions, a doctor's written clearance will be required.
According to Andaman regulations, the age limit for DSD is 60 years. Participants over 50 years must provide a medical fitness certificate before diving.
The entire experience lasts around 3–4 hours and follows a carefully designed progression
Your Instructor/DSD Leader will cover essential safety guidelines and the basics of scuba diving. You'll learn about the equipment, hand signals, and what to expect during your underwater experience.
You'll put on scuba gear and try breathing underwater for the first time in a safe, shallow area. This confined water session allows you to get comfortable with the equipment and breathing technique before venturing further.
Once you're comfortable, your instructor will guide you on a dive from the shore or by boat. You can go as deep as 12 metres / 40 feet for up to 35 minutes, depending on your comfort and air consumption.

Special programs designed for children to safely experience the underwater world
Specially designed for children aged 8 and above, the Bubblemaker program lets kids experience scuba diving in a pool or confined water environment.
Our youth programs are designed to introduce children to the wonders of the underwater world in a safe, controlled environment. Through games and interactive learning, we foster a love for the ocean and its conservation.
All children's programs are conducted by instructors specially trained in working with young divers. We maintain even smaller ratios for children to ensure their safety and comfort throughout the experience.
Parents are encouraged to observe and can even participate in the water with their child if they're certified divers
Your Discover Scuba Diving experience can be the beginning of an amazing underwater journey
Many people fall in love with diving after their very first DSD experience. The natural next step is the PADI Open Water Diver course, which provides you with a permanent certification to dive anywhere in the world to 18 metres / 60 feet with a buddy.
If you complete your Discover Scuba Diving experience with us, you can credit it toward the Open Water Diver course. This means you've already completed the first confined water dive of your certification!
Your DSD experience includes skills and knowledge that directly apply to the Open Water Diver course, making your transition to certified diver seamless and efficient.
